Flattering Dress

I don't usually do "fashion" posts, but I bought this dress for my Paris trip from the Boden UK website and it was the most comfortable, flattering dress I've bought in a very long time. I love Boden. I just don't like paying duty.
I bought this colour

I wore this dress on the plane and on my subsequent jet-lag day and later to the Musee D'Orsay with tights and my 12-hour-shoes. (See the left sidebar on the Clever Pup's Paris Notebook for more information on those beauties)

I was mistaken for a Parisian in this dress - somebody chased me down, thinking I was her friend. I think that's a good recommendation.

Another dress from Boden that I really love is this stripey one. I've got to lose another 15 pounds and then I'll buy it too.

I love the dress - I could wear that dress, but the purplier hues would look better on me. Thank you so much for the link. The outfit maker is great - like playing with paper dolls. Next time I'm in England, I'll be looking for Boden!

Are your 12-hour shoes really 12-hour shoes? I would never have guessed. I'll keep my eyes open for them, but on this side of the water. Having temperamental feet, I can't buy shoes online, more's the pity.

p.s. Did you notice the Notting Hill dress? Really, really cute.

Hi Sandra,

The Alegria shoes are a tiny bit too wide. They are the softest things ever inside and I think they have memory foam. The huge sole is mainly a container for a Birkenstock-type reverse heel insole. Nurses wear these and love them.

I did in fact wear them for 6, 8, 12 hours a day and did not have any issues with them except the big sole gets caught in the holes between the cobblestones. I don't usually wear anything other than flats so this was a departure for me.

And they do have a slightly juvenile appearance.

Yes, the Notting Hill dress is really cute.

Oh and Sandra,

I have terrible feet and legs - I get almost crippling plantar fasciitis and my legs and ankles are weak. These shoes relieved any pain I thought I would encounter.

As I think I told you in an email, I have this one, too. I'm surprised that you have to pay duty. We don't have to in the States...they registered & have a warehouse in Pennsylvania. Wish they would do that for you guys in Canada.

Tant pis.

Malheuresment, Boden US won't ship to Canada. I have to go through the UK. I've tried to persuade them.
