There was a Crooked House

One of the strangest buildings in the world is the  Krzywy Domek an irregularly-shaped building in Sopot, Poland, that makes you feel as if you're passing through the hall of mirrors in a funhouse. Built in 2004 the Krzywy Domek, whose name translates into English as the "Crooked House" is 4,000 square metres in size and is part of Sopot's Rezydent shopping center.

It was designed by Szotyńscy & Zaleski who were inspired by illustrations found in  fairytales. Here's link to the site.

I find Crooked House so modern or so surreal that it is difficult to concentrate on. Although I suppose your eyes get used to it.

Actually Crooked House reminds me a bit of Dancing House in Prague. The Prague building often reminds people of Ginger Rogers and Fred Astair dancing together. Construction was extremely tricky because each of the concrete panels had a different shape and size.

Wow, that building is amazing. I watched a programme once about architecture and apparently beauty comes about through irregularity rather than uniformity. This kind of proves the point!
