The Pond

Here are some pictures of the pond in my mother's garden. Nice, eh? She has a lovely garden and is rightly proud.

This is the pond in which my soon-to-be-10-year-old goldfish Ming was hatched.

Please click the photos to enlarge for greater detail.

A lovely jardin, indeed. Now, it brings to mind...what plans for natal day celebration for Ming? Even a "pretend" festival...

Cheers

Ming! Yes, I like this name worthy of a Fish of Gold from such a beautiful pond.
Happy belated Canada Day, Hazel!

looks like a peaceful place to retreat to...find a rock or a bench and burn away the hours and stress.

Ming is ten years old? That goldy is quite the little warrior! I feel like Ponce de Leon! Is this the fountain of youth?

Does Ming still live in that pond, or did he move to your place?

Sandra, Ming lives with us in a humble fishbowl.

Wow -- fantastic spot. I've always yearned for a little pond of my own.

Oh, Oh, I feel another painting coming on!!! Is it okay to paint from these pictures? What a terrific pond! I wish I was there, sitting next to it, instead of inside my house with air conditioning at 85 degrees (to save electricity) and 102 degrees outside. I hate this.
The pond pic makes me THINK I am cool.....so refreshing!

the pond is lovely and tranquil and the fish would suit my kitty. I do wish I had a pond in my granite slab yard (impossible) Nicely landscaped too.

I've always wanted a pond. Your mom's is really beautiful. Ten years is a long time for a goldfish. How do they cope in the winter?

Hi Kat,

The goldfish live in a garbage can in the basement during the winter.

They must really look forward to the spring.
