Hooray for Hazel

I have such a goofy, old-fashioned, maiden-aunt name that it's funny to me that Hazel hs been used in three songs. Oh and the lyrics are so spot-on in every case. Riiight!

If your interested enough to hear some of the real Bob version, it's on Planetwaves or you can click here.

Hooray for Hazel!!
There was an article in the Globe & Mail yesterday about a woman who never really liked her name Amen and called herself Amy but later came to embrace it as distinct and beautiful.

I like the name. I like hazels, witch-hazel was always in my mother's medicine cabinet, my sister was born in Hazlewood Castle, my grandfather taught me how to weave stems of growing hazels to make a shelter. the nuts are good too, if I can beat the damn squirrels to them.
