Feliz cumpleaños a mí !

For my b-day my husband, son, brother and I went to Julie's Cuban Restaurant; a really vibrant place.

It was my second time there. Food was as interesting and great-tasting as the first time. We forgot the camera but desert was a margarita cheese cake (that tasted just like condensed milk) topped with a sparkler.

I'm inspired learn about Cuban food. www.juliescuban.com/index.

This reminds me that when I lived back east, every time I went to Toronto I ended up eating my way from one end of town to the other. I'm glad you had such a happy birthday.

Cuban food sounds like a winner to me. How was the beer?

1) I wish I had an older brother who knows a cool gift when he sees it (others, see H's previous poster-post);

2) Julie would be smug & happy to know the name of the resto if only she could really understand...for whatever reason, it pleases me no end;

3) Cuban food leads to dancing...so you've nearly a year to ready yourself for NYC Gatsby-do (not letting this idea go)

4) Off to hike the Appalachian Trail.

OK, no. But off to listen to hilarious Sat. a.m. NPR show which will surely alleviate various upsets by mocking others. I can't help it.

Again, felicitations my dear & hope you're all fluffed,floofed, & armed with books & mags & music for riding the bus.

xoxo

PS: I have to type it--the verification jumble 'gypsyeti' -- hey, close enough to mean something to me.

Belated birthday wishes. May they all be as happy as this one was--and may there be many of them!

Happy Belated Birthday! That cheesecake sounds divine - if you'd taken a shot of it, I'd be piling on the pounds! Thanks for forgetting the camera.

Happy birthday, and let us know what you learn about Cuban food. My few experiences with that cuisine were so memorable. Some plantain chips with a garlic sauce that sent me over the edge. Oh, yum.

I hope you enjoyed your celebration.

my best meal when I was in NYC last year was cuban - a tiny family run-restaurant in Greenwich village. it was fantastic. thanks for the link!

Sounds like a wondeful time! Margarita cheesecake? That sounds delicious too. (What? They couldn't find enough candles? I suppose wax and cheesecake don't really go together, do they?)

Happy Belated Birthday, Hazel! This restaurant looks so inviting. I love Cuban food and was just yesterday looking at a photo I took of a Cuban sandwich while on vacation last year. I was looking and wishing and drooling instead of eating. (Diet) All the best to you in your new year!
