Let a Smile be Your Umbrella

Obviously synchronized with Giulia Geranium, I was about to publish a happy picture of Picasso and Gilot and Giulia beats me to it. The Pablo and Francoise part anyway.
Point being, it's been raining here all day with a temperature of 5˚Celsius and wind gusts up to 50 kilometers per hour. My hands are still cold from being outside.
Here's a Robert Capa photo of Picasso and Francoise Gilot in happy days and a picture of a couple of copycats enjoying the summer.

It wont be long before you're publishing THIS years beach photo! I'd never seen your original one before.

Smile. Your second looks like a much, much happier couple than the first. Cold & rainy down here in DC, too. xo svs/gg/la julie

Happy Picasso then! Take a look at his paintings at the Gagosian Gallery, Chelsea, NY, painted in the decade before he died in 1973.

Or look at a 2 minute audio discussion slide show at http://mgosden.blogspot.com/ given by NYTimes art critic Roberta Smith. I liked the look of the etching of Rembrandt!

Hi!
I've always liked that photo of Picasso with Francoise--can't say why. But Giulia is right: the second couple (you?) looks far happier. In that spirit, I have left you something on my blog, so stop by when you get a chance!

Great pics...a few showers here too...but much warmer than where you are...here is Australia I've noticed that women use umbrellas when it rains but only men wearing suits use them!

I love that picture by Capa! A few months ago the Hungarian National Museum bought more than a thousand of Capa's pictures and will put up an exhibition in the fall--I wonder if this one will be among them. Yours is much sunnier, though :)

I love that Gillot-Picasso photo. The copycats seem to be having a pretty good time, too!
